Northstar Pulp & Paper is a full service recycling and trash hauling company with a century’s worth of experience in assisting businesses to reduce their waste stream and develop innovative recycling programs.  Our business, based in Springfield, Massachusetts, prides itself in being the only recycling company in New England that has the ability to fully process and market every grade of paper, plastic, and metal.

Our recycling professionals have an intimate knowledge of the commodity business that can only be achieved through decades of hands-on experience.  This expertise allows us to develop efficient, turn-key recycling programs that are specifically designed to complement our supplier’s existing manufacturing operation.

The Goodman family has been known as pioneers within the recycling industry ever since Hyman Goodman began collecting rags by carriage in 1898.  He built the foundation of his business on two simple principles – integrity and service reliability.  Now in the Goodman family’s fifth generation within the industry, we continue to dedicate ourselves to the same core values.

While we continue to operate with the same principles, our methods and materials have changed considerably over time. We have reinvigorated our primary fiber operation with the installation of a state-of-the-art Bollegraaf HBC 120 baler while we continue to diversify our business. Northstar now proudly operates a plastic shredding and granulating enterprise, which allows us to provide yet another service to our supplier base.
